FHCRC & SCCA UW NetID Project

Goals:
Develop a standard, supportable mechanism for Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC) and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) users to obtain a UW NetID. Adhere to good identity management practices throughout all transactions and protect the privacy of personal information.

Summary:
This is a joint project between UW Medicine, UW Technology, FHCRC, and the SCCA. UW Technology maintains the central UW Person Registry and the UW NetID system that store user identities and authentication credentials for many UW and UW Medicine applications. As affiliates of UW Medicine, FHCRC and SCCA have many users that require access to systems and processes that are dependent on posession of a UW NetID. Since these users do not have a "native" affiliation with the UW, this need has been met by a non-standard, manual process mediated by the UW Medicine UAA team. This project will replace the old process with an automated process based on interfaces between FHCRC/SCCA systems of record and the UW Person Registry and NetID systems.
