Purpose
This standard describes how wireless technologies are to be deployed, administered and supported within UW Medicine[1].

Standard
· All applications accessed using remote technologies must follow the protocols of the UW Medicine Communication Technology Committee and the UW Medicine Information Security Policy, SEC-05.03 – Encryption Standard.
Wireless Technology Administration
· UW Medicine Entity Clinical Engineering has the final authority for the assignment of frequency.
· In an event that a wireless data device interferes with other equipment, UW Medicine Entity Clinical Engineering Director or IT Services Information Security Director shall take appropriate technical or administrative steps to resolve the interference.
· Report any unusual events from wireless network to the IT Services Help Desk.
